Rescued Oyo Pupils, Teachers to Receive Support, Says He, said the victims would receive the necessary support to recover from the physical and emotional effects of their ordeal before fully returning to their families and communities.

He stated this in a post on his 𝕏 account on Friday, following the rescue of the victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the state. He expressed relief over their safe return after nearly two months in the custody of their abductors.

The governor said the state government’s immediate focus was to ensure that the rescued pupils and teachers were properly reunited with their loved ones. He added that adequate care would be provided to help them overcome the trauma associated with their prolonged captivity.

He also praised the security agencies and other personnel who participated in the operation that led to the victims’ release.  commended their courage, professionalism and sacrifices during the rescue effort.

“May the souls of those who paid the ultimate price rest in peace, and may God comfort their families,” HE added.
